4. Time Off Policies
Discretionary Time Off (DTO)
We operate under a DTO policy. Employees may request time off at any time, provided it does not interfere with client commitments or team deadlines. Approval from your manager is required. DTO is not accrued; it is based on trust, communication, and responsibility.
We set a target of 15 DTO days per year, though this may be prorated depending on the quarter in which you were hired during your first year. These days are separate from the 13 company holidays observed by the agency.
Requests for time off are currently managed through Spock. Employees should log in, submit requests with as much notice as possible, and ensure coverage is planned. Instructions for using Spock will be provided during onboarding and are available in the internal resources library.
DTO for Public Participation
We support civic and community engagement. Employees may use DTO to volunteer, vote, protest, or participate in public activities, provided notice is given and client deliverables are not impacted.
Sick Leave
If you are sick or caring for an immediate family member, notify your manager as soon as possible. A same-day Slack or email message is acceptable. Extended absences may require documentation.
Holidays
In addition to 15 DTO days, the agency observes standard federal holidays. A list will be published each year. If client work requires coverage on a holiday, managers will coordinate with the team in advance.
